ABORIGINAL SKILLS AND TRAINING STRATEGY (ASETS)
Through the Aboriginal Skills and Training Strategy Manitoba Moon Voices in partnership with the Native Women’s Association of Canada delivers employment and training services for Aboriginal women across Manitoba. Our employment and training services provide Aboriginal women with the opportunity to gain meaningful and sustainable work by meeting current labour market demands.
Manitoba Moon Voices ASETS focuses on three (3) priorities:
- Skills Development -Occupational Skills (With a partnership)
- Job Starts Supports- Example – Work clothing, Work equipment.
- Employment Retention Supports- Example-providing bus fare to get to work, assistance to keep you in your current job (Proof of employment must be provided)
Are you Eligible?
Eligible clientele are Aboriginal Women (First Nation, Inuit and Metis) who are 18 years of age and older. Women seeking funding support must be unemployed, under-employed, or able to demonstrate immediate risk of being unemployed.
To apply for ASETS program simply fill out our form and schedule an appointment with our office. You will need to bring identification, all educational transcripts, letters of acceptance, proof of income, proof of indigenous ancestry (or signed declaration), birth certificates of any children and any other supporting documentation that may help to supplement your application
