The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Health Centre is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill two full-time term position of Wellness Worker. Under direct supervision of the Wellness Coordinator the Wellness Worker will provide a wide range of community based mental health services prevention and intervention support services to clients and their families/caregivers that are aligned with the Organization’s Illegal Drug Strategy and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Strives to make mental health a priority, promoting mental well-being and reducing the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness. Strives to improve and enhance the services available to individuals while recognizing the need for family participation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
University Degree in Social Work or related experience
Strong communicational skills both verbal and writing.
Ability and skill to deliver workshops on various mental health issues.
Support and promote programs relating to injury prevention.
Provide counselling services to individuals or groups.
Ability to work as a team member.
Willing to submit to random drug testing.
Works well under pressure.
