08 Jan COMMUNITY NOTICE- SOUTH EAST CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We are seeking one of our members who is interested with representing Brokenhead Ojibway Nation on the Southeast Child and Family Services Board of Directors. The following qualifications must be met.

1. Is a band member of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation;

2. Is 18 years or older;

3. Is committed to the objectives of the Southeast Child and Family Services Agency;

4. Has the ability to actively participate in Board deliberations;

5. Exhibits a demonstrated commitment to leading a life style consistent with the mandate of the Agency;

6. Is not member of the board or employees of any Child and Family Services Agency governed by the Southern First Nations Network of Care;

7. Does not hold the position Chief or Councillor or an elected position in a Metis, municipal, provincial or federal government;

8. Is willing to abide by the conflict of interest policy and guidelines of the Agency;

9. Is not a former employee of the Agency whose employment was terminated unless seven (7) full years has expired since the date of the termination;

10. Has not and have never been convicted of an offence against children;

11. Is not subject of an active child abuse registry proceeding under the Child and Family Services Act;

12. Is not registered in the Child Abuse Registry;

13. Is not the subject of an active protection case or abuse investigation with any Child and Family Services agency;

14. Is clear of any criminal conviction for at least five (5) years prior to being a member of the Board of Directors;

15. Is not and have never been charged with any indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada; and,

16. Must sign a confidentiality agreement. Experience as a Board of Directors is an asset, but is not necessary as Board of Directors and child welfare knowledge training will be provided.
